Banksy, the anonymous UK street artist, has been showcasing a series of animal-themed artworks in London recently, sparking various interpretations and speculation about their meanings.
Over the past week, the graffiti artist posted four pieces on Instagram: a mountain goat on a ledge, two playful elephants by windows, three swinging monkeys hanging from a railway bridge, and a howling wolf on a satellite dish.
Shortly after its appearance the satellite dish artwork was stolen.
Theories on social media suggest these works are a comment on recent riots and racist attacks in the UK. Past Banksy works often address themes like war and environmental issues.
