The Financial Times, OpenAI partnership will enable ChatGPT to offer concise summaries of FT articles, linking back to the source

The Financial Times has inked a deal with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT. Under the agreement, the FT will license its content to OpenAI, enabling ChatGPT to train AI models using its archives.

Revealed on Monday, the alliance empowers ChatGPT to distill FT’s content into concise summaries for its 100 million users. Financial terms remained undisclosed.

Notably, these summaries will include links back to the original FT articles, ensuring transparency.

Additionally, both parties will collaborate to develop new AI products and features tailored to the FT’s audience.

The collaboration mirrors OpenAI's recent partnerships with major media outlets like the Associated Press, Axel Springer, Le Monde and Prisa Media.
