A Google-backed startup dealing with EV infrastructure, Gravity Mobility, opened a new public charging station, touted as the fastest-ever. The chargers can replenish 200 miles of range in five minutes of charging.

It has opened access to 24 500 kW EV chargers in New York, Gravity announced yesterday.

The company plans to manufacture and deploy thousands of chargers annually. CEO Moshe Cohen stated that it aims to expand its network nationally, raising further funds this year to support this goal.

Unlike traditional EV charging stations, Gravity’s chargers are compact, resembling carry-on suitcases.

Competitors like ChargePoint and Tesla are also developing high-speed charging solutions.
