Passengers will check in, drop off bags, and clear security before boarding shuttle buses operated by Landline
Travelers flying from Boston Logan International Airport will soon skip one of the most stressful parts of air travel.
Starting June 1, passengers on select Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways morning flights can complete TSA screening at a new off-site facility in Framingham, Massachusetts, about 25 miles from the airport.
Passengers will check in, drop off bags, and clear security before boarding shuttle buses operated by Landline. The buses will take travelers directly to Logan Airport and drop them beyond the security checkpoint, helping them avoid traffic jams, crowded curbsides, and long terminal queues.
The “straight to gate” service will run daily from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Travelers must book at least 90 minutes before departure through the Massport website. The shuttle ride will cost $9 one way, while parking at the Framingham site will cost $7 per day.
Officials say the pilot project could become a model for airports nationwide as TSA looks for new ways to handle rising passenger traffic without expanding overcrowded terminals.
