Starbucks reported a tough quarter, with fewer customers visiting the outlets due to cheaper alternatives and bad weather in the US. Similar problems were seen in China, where sales dropped by 11%.

Revenue for the quarter ending March decreased by 2% to 8.56 billion, missing Wall Street estimates.

To fix this, Starbucks has a plan called “Triple Shot Reinvention with Two Pumps,” according to which the coffee giant will improve their mobile app for a smoother customer experience, introduce promotions and reduce wait times.

Starbucks is also planning to diversify its menu, including healthier options and drinks with tapioca pearls.
