The country is witnessing yet another surge in COVID-19-related hospital admissions that rose by more than 30% in the past two weeks.
Older adults and people with existing health issues drive much of the increase.

The vaccine problem
Despite the efforts, encouraging elderly citizens to take COVID-19 vaccinations is proving futile. Only 23% of nursing home residents are up to date on vaccinations as many refuse the shots.
Nursing homes blame the easing pandemic restrictions and the widespread misinformation regarding the threat the virus poses. Due to the challenges, nursing home staff have requested the government to assist with the vaccination process.
