The Biden administration plans to end all COVID-19 public health and national emergencies on May 11, nearly three years after they were first declared.

The White House has a plan in place, but Republican lawmakers want to end the emergency declarations immediately with a bill called the Pandemic Is Over Act.

So far the government has been covering the costs of treatment, tests and vaccines, which will shift to the people once the emergencies end.
