The decision by the Trump administration could affect nearly 25% of Harvard University’s student body|Joseph Williams|CC BY 2.0
The Trump administration revoked Harvard University’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification yesterday, ending the college’s ability to enroll foreign students.
It received a letter from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stating the same.
The decision could affect nearly 25% of the school’s student body.
It also affects the future of around 6,800 students attending the 2024–25 school year.
Harvard called the move “unlawful” and is expected to sue, again, after already challenging the administration’s funding cuts and attempts to reshape its curriculum and policies.
