The price of attending college is reaching new heights, especially in New England. Boston University (BU), Tufts, Wellesley and Yale are now charging over $90,000 per year for undergraduate tuition, housing, and other expenses.

While Tufts leads the pack with $96,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year, Wellesley closely follows at $92,000, and Yale at roughly $91,000.

Before you faint at the numbers, several institutions ease the burden by offering students financial aid. BU for instance plans to provide $425 million to its undergraduate students, with 92% of it being need-based.

Around 60% of Wellesley students received an average financial aid of $67,469.

There are other alternatives too. Public universities like the University of Massachusetts Amherst offer alternatives, costing around $37,000 a year for in-state students living on campus.
