Dark comedy thriller One Battle After Another won best picture at the Academy Awards, leading the night with six trophies.

Director Paul Thomas Anderson also won best director and best adapted screenplay, marking his first directing win at the Oscars.

The supernatural drama Sinners entered the ceremony with a record 16 nominations and won four awards, including best actor for Michael B. Jordan, best original score for Ludwig Göransson, and best cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw, the first woman to win in the category.

The animated Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters also made history. Co-director Maggie Kang and producer Michelle Wong became the first people of South Korean descent to win the best animated feature.

Jessie Buckley won best actress for Hamnet, while Amy Madigan took best supporting actress for Weapons.

Netflix scores multiple Oscars
Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro, won best production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

The ceremony also honored late filmmakers Robert Redford and Rob Reiner.
