Netflix experienced a brief outage yesterday when the highly anticipated season 5 of Stranger Things premiered at 5 P.M. PT.
Fans flooded X and Instagram with complaints as the app failed just minutes after release.
The show’s co-creator, Ross Duffer, noted that the issue occurred despite Netflix having boosted its bandwidth by 30% earlier in the day to prevent it.
Netflix restored service within five minutes, later confirming that only TV devices were affected.
Set in fall 1987, the final season follows the Hawkins group as they try to defeat the sinister Vecna.
