YouTube plans a $10 credit for users and points to Fox’s own streaming service, Fox One, as an alternative
Google-owned YouTube warned Monday that it may remove Fox Broadcast Network, Fox News, and Fox Sports from YouTube TV if it fails to reach a renewal agreement with Fox Corporation by Wednesday.
YouTube said Fox demands “far higher” payments than comparable content partners, and it aims for a fair deal without raising subscriber costs.
If talks fail, millions of YouTube TV subscribers could lose access to Fox channels, affecting advertisers and viewers who rely on streaming over cable.
The video platform plans a $10 credit for users and points to Fox’s own streaming service, Fox One, as an alternative.
The dispute highlights rising contract tensions as more viewers cut the cord. YouTube TV has around 9.4 million subscribers and recently surpassed Netflix in engagement.
