Markets are entering the busiest week of third-quarter earnings, with several Big Tech giants, including Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, Apple, and Amazon, set to report results.
These five companies represent about a quarter of the S&P 500’s market value.
So far, the earnings season looks strong. As of October 24, 29% of S&P 500 companies have reported results, and analysts expect earnings per share to rise 9.2% this quarter, according to FactSet.
If the rise holds, it will be the ninth straight quarter of growth, though slower than the 12% gain in Q2.
Other major companies reporting this week include Boeing, Visa, Starbucks, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, and Eli Lilly. These offer a broad snapshot of the US economy’s health.
