Unlike most US restaurant chains seeing sales decline, The Cheesecake Factory experienced a massive third-quarter traffic surge, fueled by viral social media trends that introduced younger consumers to the brand.
Same-store sales surged 15.2% YoY, driven by a 9.5% traffic growth that outperformed the Black Box casual-dining index by 940 basis points.
The restaurant chain’s parent company, which also manages chains like North Italia and Flower Child, reported more than $1 billion in revenue for a second straight quarter.
The company reported Q3 profit of $61.3 million, nearly double the $31.9 million recorded a year earlier.
By the end of the quarter, The Cheesecake Factory had 218 US and 35 international locations, plus 52 North Italia units.
Looking ahead, Q4 revenue is projected between $1.04 billion and $1.05 billion, with 2027 revenue expected around $4.425 billion.
CEO David Overton says the chain’s strong Q3 results were fueled by its new loyalty program, fresh menu offerings, and social media buzz. A viral TikTok trend showcasing a customized Cajun salmon dish added to the momentum, prompting a wave of customer orders.
