This summer’s surprise budget-friendly cocktail is the Spaghett—a bottled beer, usually Miller High Life, topped with Aperol and sometimes lemon juice.

Dubbed the “recession Aperol spritz,” the drink is gaining traction as wallets tighten.

Data from Square shows Spaghett orders rose 65% in the first half of 2025 compared with last year and have jumped 1,000% since 2022.

The appeal is simple: it’s cheap, refreshing, and easy to make at home or order at a dive bar.

Miller High Life even launched a frozen Spaghett-sicle in July, though its $79 six-pack is far from budget-friendly.

Bartenders say the drink originated as a behind-the-bar favorite in Baltimore and gained nationwide popularity.

With inflation pressing on drinkers, the Spaghett offers a fun, low-cost way to elevate beer without splurging.
