Microsoft has finally entered the handheld gaming space with its portable Xbox models called ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. Both devices feature a 7-inch screen and generous storage capacity.

Developed in collaboration with ASUS—known for producing portable consoles since 2023—the devices will run on Windows 11.

Users can play Xbox’s remote and cloud games, stream content, and access games from platforms like Steam, GOG, and Ubisoft Connect.

Though Microsoft hasn’t revealed the release date or pricing, tech geeks expect it to sell this holiday season and cost up to $800.

Xbox’s new console announcement follows Nintendo’s flagship Switch 2 debut last week, ramping up the portable gaming competition.
