An email sent to Google employees reveals that YouTube is internally testing ‘Playables’, a new product for playing online games on desktops and mobiles, per The Wall Street Journal.

One of the games in the product is Stack Bounce, an arcade game where players break bricks with a bouncing ball. The mail also mentions that users can play the game on the YouTube site and its app, available on Android and iOS devices.

When asked about Playables the company stated, “Gaming has long been a focus at YouTube,” but they have nothing new to announce right now. The mail does not mention how the company would monetize the product.

The video-sharing giant is already competing with Amazon’s Twitch which live-broadcasts gamers playing video games. The platform has billions of monthly users.

As advertising revenue slows down, it is evident that YouTube is expanding its presence in the gaming sector.
