Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the armorer for the movie Rust, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a New Mexico trial related to the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
The incident occurred when actor Alec Baldwin fired a live round from a prop gun Gutierrez Reed was responsible for, resulting in Hutchins’s death. Baldwin, also charged, is set to stand trial in July.
Gutierrez Reed was also accused of evidence tampering but was acquitted. She faces up to 18 months in prison.
