An FBI rendered image of a metallic UAP sighted in September 2023|Department of War
The Department of War, at the direction of President Donald Trump, declassified a massive tranche of 161 files on Friday detailing decades of UFO and UAP sightings across the world, and even from the Moon.
The move follows a surge in public interest and a 2022 Congressional hearing demanding transparency in the matter.
More files are scheduled for release.
The documents include transcripts from the 1960s and 70s Apollo missions. It has an image from the Apollo 17 mission showing three lights visible above the lunar terrain.
An FBI rendered image of a metallic object sighted in September 2023, as well as images as recent as this year, are available in the declassified files.
Military footage from 2022 also captures UAPs in the Middle East and Africa.
While some lawmakers, like Republican Anna Paulina Luna, labeled the disclosure a “massive first step,” critics like Marjorie Taylor Greene dismissed it as a distraction from the ongoing Iran war and economic concerns.
The government provided no analysis of the documents.
