Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, vowed revenge against the ongoing US and Israeli strikes on his country.

It was his first public message after succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the February 28 attack.

He warned about continuing to hit US military bases in the region unless they are closed. He also said Iran will keep pressure on global shipping by maintaining its leverage over the Strait of Hormuz.

In a message broadcast on Iranian state television, Khamenei said Iran will open new fronts in the war where its enemies are vulnerable. He also thanked regional allies, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis, for their support.

Iran has already launched about 2,500 missiles and drones at Gulf targets during the conflict.
