The Pentagon said about 140 troops have been wounded since the start of Operation Epic Fury, the military campaign launched against Iran.

Around seven troops have died in drone and missile attacks across the Middle East.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said most injuries were minor and 108 troops have already returned to duty. However, eight service members remain severely wounded and are receiving advanced medical care.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that yesterday would mark the “most intense day of strikes” in Iran. Concerns also rose over Iranian mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a route for roughly 20% of global oil.

Meanwhile, the US said it destroyed 16 mine-laying vessels near the Strait.
