European leaders reject Trump’s push to acquire Greenland

French President Emmanuel Macron rejected Trump’s warning of steep tariffs on European countries unless they back his bid to acquire Greenland, saying, “We prefer respect over bullies.”

His comment came yesterday during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

EU chief Ursula von der Leyen and other top officials reaffirmed Greenland’s sovereignty, rebuffing Trump, as Greenland’s prime minister warned the territory must be ready for a potential military invasion.
