President Donald Trump has invited world leaders to join a new “Board of Peace,” a proposed international peace-building body.

Permanent membership will cost countries $1 billion, while unpaid nations can join for three years. The board aims to promote stability, restore governance, and secure peace in conflict-affected regions, though the draft charter makes no direct mention of Gaza.

President Trump will select members and hold final veto power, giving him significant control.

Founding members include Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British prime minister Tony Blair, and World Bank President Ajay Banga.

European leaders are cautious, wary of funding a Trump-led initiative, while Israeli and Palestinian experts have criticized the plan. The White House says contributions will go directly to rebuilding efforts.

The board also forms a Gaza Executive Committee for operational oversight.
