President Donald Trump threatened to use tariffs in his push to acquire Greenland.
On Tuesday, he said he may impose duty on countries “if they don’t go along with” his effort to bring the Arctic island under US control.
Trump has previously offered to buy the strategically important semiautonomous territory of Denmark and has not ruled out the use of force, prompting backlash from Denmark and other European allies.
Earlier this week, Denmark and the United States agreed to form a high-level working group to try to determine a way forward for the self-governing Danish territory.
