Trump had a tense Oval Office meeting with South Africa’s Ramaphosa

It was a tense Oval Office meeting between President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday.

Trump alleged that thousands of white farmers were being executed and played videos claiming to show evidence of the killings. The confrontation included explosive false claims of white genocide and land seizures.

South Africa has earlier denied these claims.

The meeting was reminiscent of Trump’s ambush of Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in February.

Ramaphosa, who had hoped for a positive Washington visit, pushed back.

Billionaire Elon Musk, born in South Africa, was also present at the meeting.
