Russia’s Vladimir Putin said the attack on Ukraine’s hydroelectric power stations and the decision to not participate in a Black Sea grain export program were responses to a drone strike on Crimea.

Putin further adds that Kyiv drones attacked the same marine route that grain ships used under the deal mediated by the United Nations.

Ukraine did not claim responsibility for Crimea’s drone attack and clarified that its forces did not use the grain transport route for military purposes.

The attack on Kyiv’s power grid left 80% of civilians without water and 350,000 homes in the city without power.
