The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning about a deadly bacterial contamination in Reckitt and Mead Johnson Nutrition’s Nutramigen Hypoallergenic Powdered Infant Formula.

The FDA’s alert follows the voluntary recall of 675,030 cans of the manufactured baby formula on December 29—after an exported formula tested positive for Cronobacter sakazakii at the Israeli Ministry of Health.

This bacterium poses severe risks to newborns and can contaminate powdered infant formula.
