Hunter Biden was indicted for the second time this year on Thursday. He faces nine new tax charges in California for owing $1.4 million to the government between 2016 and 2019.

California court filings detail that Hunter spent money on drugs, strippers, luxury hotels and exotic cars during the period but failed to pay his taxes. The taxes have since been paid, says AP.

If convicted, he could get a maximum of 17 years in prison.

The charges—three felonies and six misdemeanors—are in addition to the gun charges placed on the 53-year-old in September.

Hunter’s indictments come at a time when President Joe Biden is prepping for his 2024 rerun. Biden may also face an impeachment inquiry soon as the House is set to vote on it next week.
