Alex Murdaugh, 54, the ex-lawyer who belonged to a powerful family from South Carolina, received two consecutive life sentences Friday for murdering his wife and son on June 7, 2021.
According to the prosecutors, the killings were an attempt to hide his drug addiction and millions of dollars worth of theft.
On Thursday, Murdaugh was found guilty on two counts of murdering his wife Maggie, 52, and son, Paul, 22.
