The New York Post Media Group will launch a new daily newspaper called “The California Post” in early 2026.
Based in Los Angeles, the paper will mirror the Post’s edgy style, offering news, celebrity gossip, opinion, and national coverage tailored for West Coast readers.
Editor-in-chief Nick Papps, a News Corp veteran, will lead the new venture.
The publication will have its own print edition and digital channels, using the same printing press as the New York Post.
With LA already the second-largest market for Post readers, the company sees strong growth potential.
The expansion comes as local outlets like the Los Angeles Times, LAist and LA Weekly shrink amid financial struggles.
