Right-wing and conservative outlet Newsmax has sued Fox News, accusing the media giant of monopolizing the right-leaning cable news market.

Filed in a Florida federal court, the lawsuit alleges Fox uses anticompetitive tactics, like restrictive contracts and penalties for carrying other right-leaning news channels, to suppress rivals.

The suit argues that Fox’s practices prevented Newsmax from growing its audience, securing distribution, and attracting major advertisers.

It is seeking a permanent injunction against Fox’s alleged conduct and triple the amount of damages.

Fox dismissed the claims, saying Newsmax is blaming “competitive failures” for its struggles.

The case adds to Fox’s ongoing legal troubles, including the $787.5 million Dominion defamation settlement in 2023 and an upcoming $2.7 billion trial with Smartmatic.

Newsmax paid $40 million to settle a similar lawsuit with Smartmatic.
