Elon Musk sharply criticized President Donald Trump’s tax-and-spending bill in a post on X, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”
Musk, who recently left his White House role, urged voters to fire politicians backing the bill during the November 2026 midterm elections.
The Tesla CEO had earlier voiced his concerns over the bill, saying it increases the deficit and hinders the work DOGE is doing.
Last month, the bill passed the House by just one vote and now heads to the Senate, where it has already met with resistance. Some Republicans want to see more spending cuts before backing it, while several others are concerned about adding trillions of dollars to the country’s debt.
Despite Musk’s criticism, GOP leaders believe they can pass it by July 4. The plan could add $2.7 trillion to the deficit by 2034.
