Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche now appears to have the Senate votes needed for confirmation after Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana announced his support.

Some Republicans raised concerns about Blanche over a controversial settlement involving President Donald Trump’s tax returns and a $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund that has since been dissolved.

The Senate has not yet scheduled a confirmation vote.
