Attorney General Pam Bondi’s time in office was marred with scrutiny over the handling of files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

President Donald Trump removed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday, ending her tenure as the country’s top law enforcement officer.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will temporarily lead the Justice Department. Reports suggest Lee Zeldin is under consideration for the permanent role.

Bondi’s time in office was marred with scrutiny over the handling of files linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Lawmakers from both parties criticized delays, missing details, and concerns over victim privacy. The issue became a political flashpoint and drew public backlash.

Bondi’s exit follows the recent removal of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, marking another high-level shake-up.

Despite the abrupt dismissal, Trump praised Bondi’s work, highlighting a nationwide crime crackdown and historically low murder rates.
