The company is ending its Prime Invitee program, which lets customers share free two-day shipping with one adult outside their household.

Amazon wants customers to get their own Prime subscriptions and will offer one to those who have used the benefit for $14.99 for a year. After that they will have to pay the full subscription amount $139 annually.

The company has a new Amazon Family program that extends benefits to people living at the same address.

It allows members to share Prime with one adult, up to four teens (if added before April 17, 2025), and four children, all having the same address.

The change follows a report that Prime signups ahead of this year’s extended Prime Day fell 2% short of Amazon’s goal.
