Discounts will remain similar to last year, with slightly smaller cuts on electronics and toys
Online holiday shopping in America is projected to rise 5.3% from last year to $253.4 billion, according to Adobe Analytics. This growth is slower than the 8.7% hike in 2024 and below the 10-year average of 13%.
Shoppers are expected to spend heavily during Cyber Week, which is Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. The period could garner 17.2% of the online spending.
Adobe predicts that mobile devices will drive 56.1% of online holiday shopping. Discounts are expected to remain similar to last year, with slightly smaller cuts on electronics and toys.
Despite economic uncertainty and weaker consumer confidence, which may limit overall spending, Adobe said online sales still show resilience.
AI-powered shopping tools are also surging, with Adobe expecting a 520% increase in their use for product research ahead of the holidays.
