Instagram users can extend Stories by 24 hours, spotlight one Story weekly, and send animated ‘Superlikes’

Meta Platforms has begun testing a premium Instagram subscription in select countries, following earlier plans to expand paid features across its platforms.

Called Instagram Plus, the feature will allow subscribers to view Stories anonymously and see how many times their own Stories get rewatched. They can also create multiple audience lists, extending control beyond the Close Friends option.

Users can extend Stories by 24 hours, spotlight one Story weekly, and send animated “Superlikes”.

Price and reaction
Reports suggest testing in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines, with prices ranging from about $1 to $2 per month.

The service targets everyday users, unlike Meta Verified. While subscriptions could boost revenue, some users show fatigue. Still, rivals like Snap Inc. have seen success with paid features.
