British golfer Aaron Rai made history on Sunday by winning the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, becoming the first English player to lift the Wanamaker Trophy since Jim Barnes in 1919.

Rai ignited his round with a 40-foot eagle putt on the 9th hole. The 31-year-old from Wolverhampton shot a stellar final-round 65 (-5) to finish at 9-under par total.

Ranked No. 44 in the world, Rai began the day with 21 players, including six-time major champion Rory McIlroy, the 2017 and 2022 PGA champion, Justin Thomas, and more.

He remained steady while co-leaders Rahm, Alex Smalley, and Matti Schmid faltered under pressure.
