Carlos Alcaraz captured the US Open title on Sunday, beating Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in a high-stakes clash between tennis’s brightest young stars.
The 22-year-old Spaniard reclaimed the world No. 1 ranking with the victory, ending Sinner’s reign as defending champion. The showdown was historic as it was the first time the two players had met in three straight Grand Slam finals within a single season.
President Donald Trump was also present at the Arthur Ashe Stadium to watch the men’s final for the first time since 2015.
A day earlier, Aryna Sabalenka defended her US Open title with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) victory over Amanda Anisimova.
The world No. 1 stayed calm under pressure, sealing her fourth Grand Slam crown. Sabalenka has now reached six straight hard-court finals and won 19 consecutive tiebreaks, cementing her dominance.
