An era ends for Argentina as soccer great Lionel Messi played his final match for the country on Tuesday.

In his 208th and final match for the national team, dubbed “the last tango,” Messi hit one penalty and assisted two goals. They won 3-0 over Benin.

The 39-year-old announced his retirement from international soccer in August, just weeks after Argentina’s World Cup loss to Spain.

Messi’s farewell match in Buenos Aires drew over 85,000 fans, with tickets originally priced between $60 and $300 reselling for over $2,500 after selling out in just 90 minutes.

Throughout his 21-year career, he has scored 126 goals, won two Copa America titles and a World Cup championship.

Messi will continue his club career with Inter Miami.
