US Soccer Federation president Cindy Parlow Cone responded to Sally Q Yates’ investigation and said it was just a “first step” in changing the environment of women’s soccer.

A yearlong independent investigation by Sally Yates, former US Attorney General, showed abuse and misconduct by coaches and executives “had become systemic” in the National Women’s Soccer League and the US Soccer Federation.

The report focuses on three cases but also highlights that complaints of abuse were overlooked and normalized throughout the league.
