Streameast offered free access to global sports like the Premier League, Champions League, NFL, NBA, and MLB
Streameast, the world’s largest illegal sports streaming platform, has been shut down after a year-long investigation led by the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE).
The network operated 80 domains and drew 1.6 billion visits in the past year, offering free access to global sports like the Premier League, Champions League, NFL, NBA, and MLB.
Egyptian authorities, working with ACE, raided a hub near Cairo on August 24, arresting two men and seizing laptops, smartphones, cash, and crypto tied to illicit revenue. Investigators uncovered a shell company in the UAE linked to $6.2million in laundered ad income since 2010.
ACE, backed by major players such as Amazon, Netflix, and Paramount, called the takedown a “landmark victory” against piracy. However, copycat sites have already begun emerging online.
