Tara Vanderveer makes history with most wins in NCAA basketball

Stanford’s women’s basketball coach, Tara VanDerveer, made history by becoming the winningest coach in college basketball.

VanDerveer secured her place in the record books with 1,203 coaching victories, surpassing the legendary former Duke coach and previous record holder Mike Krzyzewski.

The milestone was achieved in a 65-56 victory over Oregon State at Maples Pavilion on Sunday.

The postgame celebration was filled with cheers from fans, confetti showers, and a standout performance by player Kiki Iriafen, scoring a career-high 36 points.

VanDerveer’s illustrious career includes three NCAA titles, 25 conference regular-season titles, and coaching the women’s national team to Olympic gold in 1996.
