Apple unveiled its latest range of products at the ‘Awe Dropping’ event on Tuesday, including the new iPhone 17 Air, AirPods Pro 3, and Series 11 Watches.

The ultra-thin iPhone Air is 5.6 millimeters thick, making it the slimmest iPhone ever. It is Apple’s biggest product change in years, and comes as the tech giant struggles with AI innovation, delaying Siri features.

Another change in the new products is that all four iPhone versions start at 256 GB storage, have upgraded cameras, longer battery life, and new selfie-focused tools like “Center Stage.”

Apple has raised the price of the iPhone 17 Pro by $100 to $1,100, while keeping the base model at $800 and the Pro Max at $1,200. All models are available on September 19.

The rollout comes as Apple navigates President Donald Trump’s renewed tariffs, with iPhones from China and India facing duties of about 25%. Analysts believe this pressure drove the Pro price hike, though Apple has avoided broader increases.

CEO Tim Cook has tried to shield the company by pledging $600 billion in US investment over five years.

Despite the buzz around the Air model, Apple’s stock fell 1.5% on launch day. Its shares are down 6% so far this year.

Missing AI upgrades, like an enhanced Siri delayed until 2026, have also fueled doubts about Apple’s place in the AI race.
