Apple announced its major software redesign since 2013 yesterday with the launch of its Liquid Glass interface across all of its devices’ operating systems.

These systems are now renamed to reflect their release year—last year’s iOS 18 becomes iOS 26, macOS 15 is now macOS Tahoe 26, and other renamed platforms include iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26.

Inspired by the visionOs interface, the Liquified Glass update unifies the look of Apple’s platforms with transparent, glass-like visuals and revamped navigation menus.

Despite the flashy design updates, Apple’s AI advancements were modest. The company confirmed that app developers can now build features and software using its Apple Intelligence foundational models.

It also rolled out a Genmoji feature that can merge two existing emojis into one.

Investors were underwhelmed by the lack of groundbreaking AI announcements. Apple shares dipped 1.2% post-event and are down 20% in value so far in 2026.
