Boston Dynamics unveiled a new all-electric version of its humanoid robot, Atlas, a day after retiring its hydraulic version. The new model promises agility and dexterity. CEO Robert Playter plans to sell them.

What’s different about this one?
The new electric Atlas boasts enhanced strength capabilities; it can lift heavier loads than its hydraulic predecessor, opening up a world of possibilities for industrial applications.

It has a softer and cartoonish design aesthetic similar to contemporary robots like Agility’s Digit and Apptronik’s Apollo.

The way it moves
The new Atlas comes with special motors and advanced features, including swiveling knees. Its torso can rotate a full 360 degrees.

While a specific release date for the electric Atlas hasn’t been announced, Boston Dynamics is gearing up for pilot testing at Hyundai facilities in the near future.
