The new Mac Mini is available for presale ahead of shipping on September 22|Apple
The tech giant unveiled its updated Mac Mini and Mac Studio models featuring next-generation M6 and M5 Max chips for advanced AI users.
The desktop models gained popularity last year after AI developers realized they were ideal for running resource-intensive AI agents like OpenClaw on-device. And Apple is quick to capitalize on that.
According to the company, the main benefit of these chips is faster performance on demanding LLM workloads. Apple says the M6 is 20% faster than the M5 and 40% faster than the M4.
But there’s a steep price to pay
The M6-powered Mac Mini starts at $899, while the M5 Max Mac Studio starts at $2,499. The company attributed the $100 to $200 increases to rising memory costs.
A top-of-the-line Mac Studio with all the extras can cost upwards of $15,000.
Both machines are available for presale ahead of shipping on September 22. Their release comes as Apple gears up to announce its new iPhone models in the coming weeks.
