President Joe Biden has warned of the “dangerous and threatening” storm system that is expected to bring blizzard conditions to the Great Lakes region just before Christmas.
President Biden’s warning came Thursday from the White House. He insisted that those planning to travel over the holidays should leave right away.
More than 5,000 flights were canceled between Wednesday and Friday, per FlightAware, as the country is witnessing a winter storm, which has sent mercury drop to below 0° Fahrenheit in more than 15 states.
More than 16,000 US flights were delayed.
The holidays are among the busiest times for the travel industry, and the cancellations and delays at this time would mean many won’t make it to their destinations on time.
