The hotspot for tourists and revelers, Miami Beach, is intensifying efforts for a more peaceful spring break, announcing a midnight curfew effective from Friday at 11:59 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m.

The announcement, specifically targeting South Beach, aims to curb the expected large crowds during the peak season.

The curfew zone covers the area between 23rd Street and Government Cut, with restrictions on alcohol sales after 6 p.m. in affected areas.

Additionally, a Special Event Zone is designated from 8 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday, including Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue.

Mayor Steven Meiner stresses the priority of public safety, with a focus on preventing the chaos experienced in previous years.
