The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) predicts it will screen more than 14 million passengers from Friday through Wednesday, and today will be the busiest

Labor Day weekend is here, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) anticipates it to be the third busiest holiday weekend of the year, after Juneteenth and Presidents Day.

Crowded airports
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) predicts it will screen more than 14 million passengers from Friday through Wednesday. Today will be the busiest.

Booking platform Hopper believes the number of travelers will be higher and predicts nearly 20 million flyers will depart from U.S. airports this weekend.

The Labor Day weekend usually marks the unofficial end of summer. Travelers can expect crowded airports and full flights if they’re heading to popular domestic destinations like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, Orlando and Seattle.

Other options
Travel experts suggest hitting the road either early in the morning or in the evening to avoid crowds. The peak hours to avoid will be between 11 AM and 9 PM on Friday.

Prices
Gasoline prices are averaging around $3.825, according to the American Automobile Association. Rental cars are available for an average of $41 per day.

The average cost of flight tickets is around $226 per ticket.
